| Descripción del viñedo | Champagne Ruinart : The excellence of chardonnay. Thierry Dom Ruinart, a Benedictine monk, aroused the interest of his brother to the trade of champagnes and he transmitted to him his knowledge. A few years later, his nephew, Nicolas Ruinart, a disciple of Dom Perignon, founded the Ruinart house in 1729 in tribute to his uncle and his father and their visionaries’ minds. This prestigious brand has developed the mastery of a particular grape variety, the Chardonnay, and Ruinart is now recognized throughout the world as one of the best maker of champagnes Blanc de Blancs. Two wines of the brand are produced exclusively from chardonnay, the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and Dom Ruinart. The vintage Dom Ruinart is the prestigious cuvée of the brand; it shows the ultimate expression of chardonnay. This wine is made from chardonnay, which comes from exclusively of vines, based in the Côte des Blancs and the mountains of Reims. The Cuvée Dom Ruinart was created in 1959 to pay tribute to Dom Ruinart, who has inspired the brand. The brand was acquired in 1963 by Moët & Chandon. It is, however, today belonging to the luxury group LVMH, which has bought Moët & Chandon champagnes. |
